Who is Web Jewels?

Web Jewels Website Design is a sole-proprietorship business created in January 2009 operated by Terry Mack of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The business is registered with the City of Calgary as a home-based business wherein my own equipment is used to perform website design services and virtual assistant tasks.

What type of services do you provide?

Do you work alone?

Image of Terry with laptopWebsite Design Services: Yes, I normally work alone but have a network of website design professionals and graphic artists that I can call upon, if necessary, to complete a project.

Virtual Assistant Tasks: Yes, due to confidentiality, I prefer to work alone. With your permission, I will communicate with your staff, clients and vendors on your behalf as your agent.

Do you have a contract?

Yes, a contract will be signed by both the Client and Web Jewels.

Website Design Services: The contract will specify the services to be provided and an estimate of fees for the project.

Virtual Assistant Tasks: The contract will specify the tasks to be performed and fees for services.

How do I transfer my work to you?

Files may be submitted by email or uploaded to my OneDrive account. For large files, I will provide a link for you to upload to my website by FTP.

How will I receive my completed work?

Website Design Services: During the project, you will have access to a password-protected area of my website to review the progress. Upon completion, the website will be uploaded to your web hosting company. Any material prepared by me for the project, including graphics, electronic files, etc., will be provided in their original format along with all specifications to be retained by the Client.

Virtual Assistant Tasks: All electronic copies of files, records and receipts will be provided by email or uploaded to Internet storage (e.g. Box, Dropbox, OneDrive). If necessary, large files may be downloaded from a secured area of the Web Jewels website.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment may be submitted by credit card through PayPal to terrymack@webjewels.ca.

For Canadian clients, payment may also be made by Interac E-Transfer to terrymack@webjewels.ca.

Who are your clients?

Web Jewels works with entrepreneurs and small business owners to create a compelling online presence and assist their businesses with virtual administrative tasks.

How do you work in a virtual environment?

I use purchased software on my own computers and programs that are available online. When necessary, I use software provided by the Client installed on my computers and access online programs using Client-provided login credentials.

Would you be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement?

Website Design Services: Yes, during the completion of your project, your information will never be shared or available for Internet viewing without your prior written permission. Our contract will include non-disclosure and confidentiality terms. Upon the completion of a website design project, I reserve the right to display design elements as examples of work in a Portfolio.

Virtual Assistant Tasks: Yes, during the completion of your administrative tasks, your business practices and information will never be shared without your prior written permission. Our contract will include non-disclosure and confidentiality terms.

Should you wish to have a separate non-disclosure agreement, you will provide this agreement for signature by Web Jewels.

Will my information be secure?

Yes, documents provided in electronic format will not be printed, and documents provided in hard copy will be scanned into electronic versions and the originals returned or shredded.

To safeguard your electronic information, all files are stored in password-protected folders on my computers, and offline backups are run daily, weekly and monthly.

Do you send an invoice?

Yes, invoices are sent by email as a PDF document. If requested, an invoice may also be sent by PayPal for easy payment processing.

What are your payment policies?

Website Design Services: The payment schedule will be as listed in the contract for the project—normally a 50% deposit to commence work, payment at the midway point and final payment once the project has been completed to the Client’s specifications. Invoices will be submitted at each milestone date. Payment is due within fifteen (15) days of the invoice date.

Virtual Assistant Tasks: Invoices will be submitted monthly for work completed in the previous month. Payment is due within fifteen (15) days of the invoice date.

What is your typical turnaround time to send a response?
